THE SHAPE


First, we scanned a variety of head shapes of men and women, boys and girls within a wide age range to capture biometric measurements.

Next, we generated a set of 3D head forms from the captured biometrics to begin modeling.

CAD drawings were then created around the 3D head forms for an accurate fit.

ENGINEERING


  • We assembled our team of highly acclaimed industrial designers, mechanical engineers and biomedical engineers to identify and create the ideal shape and form.
  • Together we selected the best materials to build a complete impact protection system.

PROTOTYPE


From our CAD drawings steel moulds were built to ensure precise fit and measurement of each component.

Impact Test


  • We validated the impact performance of The Mercado®.
  • We conducted extensive research and impact testing at Columbia University, New York University, Virginia Tech Helmet Rating Institute, and certified EU head impact institutions.
